These are shots that me and the rest of my group have taken in order to experiment with the equipment being offered to us, (camera and tripod) and the software that we can use to edit the footage (IMovie). By doing so,  I hope that both my skills and understanding of such products will develop.

Treatment for movie trailer production

This is the treatment for my/our movie trailer production.

Preliminary activity narrative idea

Genre: Gangster deal

Character 1: Unnamed young male

Character 2: Unnamed young male

Character 3: Unnamed young male

All 3 characters to be dressed in casual clothing e.g. jumper and jeans or a tracksuit etc. This is because this is similar to what is conceived to be a modern day gangster, so this should fit the genre of the preliminary task that I have chosen.

Setting: rough area such as a back alley or a car park etc. This is because this matches both the age group and type in character in the narrative, it also goes well with the genre associated with the narrative, which maintains consistency.

Two of the characters exchange a package for money whilst the third character observes the exchange and suggests to the viewer that he is against the two characters and the deal and is therefore plotting an attack of some sort etc. Could look at phone and text an associate with something along the lines of “it’s done; the attack starts tomorrow” etc.

My initial thoughts on A2 media

What will I be doing?

I have been old to create a movie marketing campaign for a movie that fits into one of the specified genres. These are as follows:

- A western gunfight

- A horror chase

- A romantic encounter

- A gangster deal

I will be working with other people to create the products. The products will be the following:

- The main product, which is a movie trailer- This will count for 40%

- A poster- This will count for 20%

- A magazine front cover- this will count for 20%

Research and planning will be worth a further 20% and will be completed before the construction of the three products, and the final 20% will come as a result of an evaluation, which will be completed afterwards.

I must include a number of features in the creation process including a suitable soundtrack and dialogue between characters. This is something that holds great importance as it will contribute to the professionalism and quality of my created products.

I must also use a variety of camera angles, this will also play a part in the development of the products and these can also be used to entice the potential customer further.

A preliminary task will also be completed beforehand, this is part of research and development/planning and will be completed with two other people. This will last around sixty seconds and will also fall under one of the genres shown above.
